The Quick 6 IV Scenario Pack, published by Lone Canuck Publishing, was “designed for the participants of the 2021 West Coast Rumble [with] minimum set up time, resulting in maximum playing time.” It’s a small, “mixed-bag” style scenario pack with 6 actions set at different times and places, including:
- Q19 (Raff’s Ruffians), Germany 1945. Americans vs. Soviets. Small. American attack. Recoilless rifles vs. an 88mm AA gun.
- Q20 (Boxcloth), Apamama Atoll, 1943. Americans (USMC) vs. Japanese. Small. American attack. The Japanese have only 2 squads, 1 crew, and 2 leaders.
- Q21 (Hold Pokhlebin!), Soviet Union, 1942. Soviets vs. Germans. Small. Soviet attack. Ten Soviet squads and 1 tank vs. 5 German squads and an AT gun.
- Q22 (French Spirit), France 1940. French vs. Germans. Small. French attack. The French have FT-17s, the most fun tank in ASL, because you feel so satisfied if you accomplish anything with one.
- Q23 (Campoleone Salient), Italy 1944. British vs. Germans. Small. The British attack a hill defended by 6 German squads and 2 guns. The British have 9 squads and 3 Shermans.
- Q24 (Moldavian Precursor), Soviet Union 1941. Soviets vs. Romanians. Medium. Romanian attack. All infantry, with no guns, so should play fast despite being medium-sized.
To play all the scenarios, one needs geoboards 6, 85, 2a, and 6a, and ASLSK board m.
The scenarios are quite suitable for tournament play, or any quick-play situation. With one exception, the scenarios are all small or very small, and the exception will also play fast. All of the scenarios use just one geoboard (or a portion of one). They are all 5.5 to 6 turns long. Most of the scenarios look like they would be fun and/or interesting to play, with the exception of the tiny Q20 (Boxcloth), with its negligibly-sized Japanese force that can be extremely vulnerable to a single “bad luck” incident.
