Newsletter in PDF form
Hazmo Horizon is an annual newsletter published by Hazardous Movement to promote itself and serve the general ASL community. As of this writing (in 2024), it has published three issues, each as a downloadable PDF file (available here).
The contents of issues of Hazmo Horizon are more or less standard newsletter fare, though they are notable for including pieces from a variety of well-known designers, tournament directors, and others. The issues to date from from 42 to 72 pages long, although this is somewhat misleading, as text is printed in a huge font. With a normal layout, the issues would be much shorter. On the other hand, if you live to be 100 and are still mentally capable of being interested in ASL, at least you will be able to read the large type.
Issues do have scenarios, but they are not original or unique to the newsletter–to date, they have either been “teaser” scenarios for the next Hazardous Movement scenario pack or reprints of old third party scenarios. Because of that, Hazmo Horizon is included here as a “newsletter without scenarios” rather than as a “newsletter with scenarios.”
Hazardous Movement recently announced that its upcoming fifth scenario pack will also be its last, so it is possible this newsletter may end relatively soon as well.
