2 5/8" (16mm) custom precision dice
“43rd Wessex Division” is one of two sets of dice released by Battleschool to commemorate Operation Market-Garden and, more to the point, to capitalize on the release by MMP of Decision at Elst, an ASLSK historical module on part of that battle. The other dice set is the Arnheim 1944 set.
The 43rd Wessex Division set consists of two 5/8″ (16mm) custom precision dice, one white and one blue. The blue die has its “1” face replaced by a gold-foil wyvern, the symbol of the 43rd Division, as well as the number 43 and the word “Wessex.” The “2” face and the “3” face also have small “ROF” squares to help players remember ROF.
The white die has its “1” face replaced by a blue, white and red British roundel.
Obviously, this set is designed for a British player, with the other set oriented towards a German player. The German set is more generically “Arnhem” related and could be used in conjunction with a number of Market-Garden products. However, the British set, with its 43rd Wessex Division emphasis, would look out place with products that featured other British units instead.
Players should be aware that these 5/8″ dice are fairly large and can get stuck in smaller dice towers.
